Little Treasures Kung Fu Program
Thank you for visiting our Little Treasures Kung Fu page. We are flattered that our school has landed on your radar and that we are one of your considerations. This page is designed to help make your decision easier. Our children are our lives and finding the right fit for them regardless of activity is so vital because the activity becomes such a part of their lives. We wish you good luck and thanks again.
Our Philosophy On Teaching Kids
Teaching children a grown person's skill such as self-defense requires a bit of maturity on the part of the child and patience from the parent. We are not in a hurry to grow any of our martial arts programs because our focus is on quality not quantity. Please consider before enrolling at Three Treasures. Even after 10 years of martial arts training, students are still just beginners and have many facets of life to learn. Martial arts especially Kung Fu, used to be a way of life. Nowadays, with the onset of commercialism, martial arts has been relegated to just the physical aspect and become a sport void of the life nourishing philosophy. Our Kung Fu is an extension of our Youth Mentorship Program that has become highly popular with parents.

Our Requirements
These are expectations that you think about when considering Three Treasures for your child. No martial arts school or style is perfect and we cannot be everything to everyone. Therefore, we, too, must use discretion when enrolling students. We will never discriminate on the basis of anything and will accept any child (or adult) that wants to be a part of our Kung Fu family but it is helpful for you to know how we do things. We want to avoid telling you what you want to hear just to get your signature. In the end, this has to be a good experience for everyone.
- Must be at least 7 years old. We will consider 6 year olds but only on a case by case basis. Students need to be mature enough to understand the serious nature of self-defense situations and that the training requires their best focus.
- You need to be a good partner for us and explain to your child that our training is fun but also difficult and a long road. We need your commitment as we will be committed to your child.
- You need to be OK with us being stern with your child. There will always be time for fun and games but we are not here to enable your child your. Students will learn to "eat bitter before tasting sweet" which means that life can be difficult and they must learn to handle losing or not getting their way sometimes.
- The customer is not always right. Your tuition payments do not make you our boss. We teach each child to the best of our ability and that may require using different methods depending on how your child learns best. Every student advances at their own pace. Three Treasures is not a "belt derby" where your child tests every 6 months or sooner for a new level.
- We are staunch believers in "exchange of energy" which promotes harmony in the school. We appreciate you reciprocating our family style atmosphere.
Curriculum
Our training program is divided into two focuses: self-defense and preservation of the Kung Fu systems. Our classes mainly focus on the self-defense while the private lessons are where a majority of the empty hand, weapons, and 2 person forms are taught as well as higher level fighting applications, throws, and joint locks. Each day of the week has a different focus. For example, Mondays are our sparring and conditioning days; Wednesdays are self-defense techniques; and Fridays are ground fighting.
Tuition Cost and Other Expenses
We want to be upfront with our costs. We will never try to "nickel and dime" you and will only require you to purchase what is truly necessary. Our prices are not negotiable. We offer quite a bit as compared to other schools. Our curriculum is robust and our attention to detail is high. Because we are a non-profit and we do not need Kung Fu to be or main source of revenue, we offer a lower price.
